Little Women, The Musical Cast and Artistic Team Announcement

The Louisa May Alcott classic story comes to life at the Arsenal Center for the Arts this fall as the Wellesley Players perform Little Women. Little Women will warm audience hearts as the March sisters endure without their father, a chaplain in the Union army during the Civil War. This coming-of-age story is set not far from Wellesley, as Louisa May Alcott’s family home in Concord is the basis for the March estate depicted in the familiar novel and musical.

AACT Honors long-time Player Rita Ford

Long-time member Rita Ford was honored on May 22, with a presentation of the Spotlight Award from AACT. Bevie Lord, AACT representative was on hand to present the award. Only one of ten awards presented in the United States, The Players are thrilled to have had the opportunity to recognize Rita’s many contributions. “I was given some talent, but I am blessed with friends. I give because I get! My years with the Wellesley Players has been a gift. Being the recipient of the Spotlight Award, is the frosting on the cake!”

Babson College Reviews Annie

For those of us who did not have the luxury to travel to some exotic beach or have our bellies filled with home cooked meals, there was not much to do on campus over this past Spring Break.

As soon as all the lights in the dorms around campus went out however, the lights in the Carling-Sorenson Theater went on. Abandoned by Babson students, the humble abode of the Babson Players, BDE, and other student organizations was transformed into the set of the award-winning musical Annie, produced by the Wellesley Players.

The musical Annie opened this past weekend to rave reviews and great audience buzz. Several more performances are available to you this coming weekend! This is not a performance you want to miss! All performances take place at the Sorenson Center on the campus of Babson College. Lauren Weintraub, Annie and her wonderfully talented team of orphans light up the stage with sheer energy and delight!
